A house of colorful events

The Mikaeli Concert and Congress Hall is a magnificent masterpiece of Finnish architecture designed by Professor Arto Sipinen. The building, completed in 1988, is located in a scenic location on the shores of Pankalampi, next to the Hanhilampi nature reserve. The Lapland Tervola marble, warm brass and birch furniture used as the house’s materials create a warm and almost idyllic atmosphere in the interior.

Mikaeli’s bright and airy spaces provide the perfect setting for a wide variety of events from big concerts and congresses to smaller events. About 250 different events are held in Mikael every year. About half of them are meetings and half are concerts and other events. The annual number of visitors is about 50,000.

Mikkelin Mikaeli Oy, founded in 2006, is responsible for Mikaeli’s operations. The company’s shareholders are the City of Mikkeli, SCI-Finance Oy and the Mikkeli Music Festival Support Association. Mikaeli’s property is owned by the City of Mikkeli. The company’s CEO is Antti Kalliomaa. The restaurant in the house is operated by Serviini Oy from Mikkeli.

Graphic artist Kari Piippo has designed Mikkelin Mikaeli Oy’s current logo, which features an angel’s wing or a touch of a wing, referring to the traditions and the origin of the house’s name.
